GUNS!

“I am not a gun owner, and I am not against gun ownership at all. If the need arose I would get a gun. Several members of my family are gun owners and I have no worries about their safe handling. They are trained and use it for firing at the range and preparation for an eventuality. I have only fired one weapon, the M16 when I was in the army years ago. So to my gun owner, citizen friends, I support you, even when you want to enjoy the wide variety of weapons we are allowed to own. But here’s my problem. I suspect, even confidently know, that most of my gun owning family and friends are horrified but the new American trends of active shooters in schools, churches, stores and wherever. And these nightmares have the common denominator of a young person, often a troubled male, who goes off on innocents. It is a national embarrassment. And we cannot get ahead of this horror show. What’s the cliche here? A loner twenty year old who meticulously plans and carries out the nightmare for whatever reason they have in their twisted minds. And they carry it out with a weapon more powerful than my old M16.  So why don’t our active gun owners step up and lead the charge to push lawmakers to do something!? You have the credible voice to say change this so we can continue our enjoyment of gun ownership? No more ‘all or nothing idiotic solutions?’ Get engaged with your credible voice. You have the voice and the Second Amendment support. So for the love of God do something! You have the credibility.
