Going Back to the Couch

This Fall I will be returning to my psychotherapy practice after many years. I began as a practicing therapist the day I graduated from Columbia School of Social Work in 1990! But in the intervening years I drifted away from private practice to devote my time and energy to pubic speaking and, of course, standup comedy. It has been a delightful career ride! And I have had numerous opportunities to share my insights and humor on stages before audiences large and small, on television and on radio as well. But at this stage my desire is to return to psychotherapy. I will still speak to groups, of course and will continue teaching at Purdue, as well as sharing my insights in media. But the practice room is where I will be focused for the coming years of my career. In preparation I have delighted in refreshing my training and have completed a new Masters Degree in health psychology along with my Doctorate from UMass. And I have been immersed in ongoing training in the treatment of trauma in its many forms. This is where my heart is and I am grateful. And I will actively share what I know and will continue to learn. I will share my experiences here as well. Thanks for reading.
