Doom Scrolling! 😵‍💫

I finally learned the term ’doom scrolling’ recently. I had never heard of it before, but sadly realized that I am sometimes drawn into this temptation myself. It refers to mindless and endless scrolling through online videos depicting bad behavior, road rage incidents and other antisocial behavior caught on cell phone cameras. They are fascinating to watch and difficult to turn away from once you begin streaming them. I have been caught in this myself rooting got the heroes to beat up the bullies. I can attest that it is hard to stop after just one or even a few. Before you know it, a half hour of your time and life are gone. This has to be so one of the more destructive features of the Internet that draws people into this addiction. We need a ‘doom scrolling’ support group. I will attend the meetings. “Hi I’m Will and I am a periodic ‘doom scroller’.”  😵‍💫
